Her duties included: Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiac Rehabilitation and Patient Educator. Janet became interested in Early Childhood Education after working as a substitute teacher in her daughters' preschool. She earned her EC Lead Teacher and Director’s Certificates and helped start EDSE. Over her nearly 20 years in the Early Childhood field, she has taught every age group in the preschool setting. Janet enjoys mountain biking, hiking, water skiing and snow skiing.

Kris Ciancia, Billing Administrator

Kris was born in Buffalo, New York and moved to Evergreen at age 11.  She attended Metro State College of Denver and has a Bachelor’s degree from the School of Professional Studies.  She began with EDSE as a teacher and is now our wonderful Billing Administrator.  Kris has three children and is married to Larry, whom she has known since childhood.  She lives a very exciting life, mixing and mingling with rock stars; this is due to the fact that her husband works in the music business.  When asked what Kris enjoys doing the most…. she will tell you it is not camping.  She enjoys the life of luxury, preferring to vacation at a five star resort; preferably on a beach.

Liz Ford, Assistant Director/ Lead Teacher

Liz started at EDSE in 2013 as Assistant Director and has also taught Specials and Pre-K. She grew up in Cincinnati, but finally settled in Colorado. She earned her BA from Duke, an MBA from the University of San Diego, and completed her Music Education certification work at the University of Miami School of Music. Liz taught music in schools in Miami for five years. After having three children, Liz moved out west to Taos, NM and started an indoor play center for children. She moved to Evergreen in 2012 and her kids attend Wilmot Elementary and Evergreen Middle School. She earned her EC Lead Teacher and Director Certificates from the State of Colorado while teaching in Littleton, and then came to EDSE. Liz has fallen for the mountains and enjoys skiing, hiking, singing and playing guitar at local venues, watching soccer, and concerts at Red Rocks.

Justine Swiatek, Lead Teacher

Justine is from Laramie, Wyoming. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in women's studies from the University of Wyoming and has been an Early Childhood Education teacher for the past five years. What she enjoys most about early education is the rapid development that occurs over a school year. It makes every day an adventure!

Justine loves the Rocky Mountains. She and her husband Moe love to travel and experience local cuisine, and they enjoy a myriad of outdoor activities with their two dogs. They spend time hiking, bicycling and working in the yard. They also cross country ski and snowshoe, and in 2015 welcomed their first child, Suzanne Quinn!.

Anissa is from Massachusetts originally, but moved to Evergreen from West Lafayette, Indiana. She received her Bachelor degree in Secondary Education from Purdue University, and worked in the education field for two years before taking a hiatus to start her family. While at IBM she met and married a co-worker, David Black, with whom she has two children, Devin and Colleen. In 1993, Shelley left IBM to pursue her dream of becoming an Interior Designer, achieving an Associates Degree in Applied Science from ACC, and has owned a successful interior design firm for 20 years. Already in residence in Evergreen and a member of the Church of the Transfiguration, she helped Janet Reznik start EDSE in 2004 and has been a behind-the-scenes contributor to the program ever since. Having spent many years in the tech industry educating others, Shelley decided to build on her joy of teaching by obtaining her certificate for Early Childhood Lead Teacher through RRCC, and now works intimately with the school both in the classrooms and in the office.

She is attending Metro State University to further her degree in education. Kelsey likes to spend her free time painting, playing the piano, snowboarding, and hiking with her friends.

Cathey Cox, Lead Teacher

Cathey was destined to a life of moving a lot as a child, but spent much of her time in Colorado, since her grandparents lived here.  She fell in love with Colorado when she was very young, and vowed that one day she would return, and stay forever.  So after she graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1990, that’s what she did.  She has settled in the Evergreen area within the last three years, and loves it here.  She loves the wildlife, the outdoor activities, and now she is loving her job teaching at the Episcopal Day School of Evergreen.  Her degree is in Elementary Education, and she also has a Math minor and an English minor.
